Vintage Design
This unique tea table / sewing table is from the well-known designer Carlo Bugatti. Carlo Bugatti was a prominent Italian designer. Best known for his associations and contributions to the Art Nouveau movement. Born in Italy, Milan, 1856. He studied at the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Paris before making furniture in Milan in 1880. Walnut wood, partly ebonized. Decorated front, back and both sides. with bamboo motifs. with pewter inlay and molten metals. Table top covered with goatskin parchment. with brass with star motifs patinated in copper look, with silk tassels. The table is original, unrestored, except for the silk tassels, which are new. In very good condition for its age. Measures: H 75.5 x W 65 x D 37.5 cm.
