Vintage Design
Beautiful Napoleon III period cabinet surmounted by a white marble of finely veined carrare of gray marrying the curve of the facade and sides.
This secretary is partially composed of a flap simulating three drawers and in the lower part of four drawers.
The drawers are slightly curved on the front and underlined by sculpted bronze chopsticks applied in its periphery. On the front, they are composed of rosewood in the center, in four leaves, with in the periphery a net of light wood and tinted wood. The entourage is in rosewood. Each drawer is equipped with two bronze draws, bronze entrances, original locks accompanied by their key, in operation.
The opening of the flap reveals a tabernacle consisting of a niche, a wide drawer by simulating two, and two small drawers in the lower part. Inside, we find a black leather with golden thumbnail, enriched with a harmonious central ornament.
The facade and sides of this secretary enjoys many bronze trim. Rounded feet in rosewood veneer highlight the high and low falls. The sides are slightly curved backwards and we find in the center a large four sheets of rosewood with surround in rosewood.
The upper part of the cabinet ends in diminishing throat with rosewood veneer, bronze baguette in its periphery, bronze flower patterns with angles and in the middle a bronze palmette.
In its projecting top is an important godron bronze molding. At each angle, we find a bronze fall and in the middle an interlaced motif.
Graceful and elegant, this secretary Napoleon III of the nineteenth century will delight you by the finesse of his ornamentations.
