Royal House Antiques is delighted to offer for sale pair of very rare, highly collectable Burr Walnut & Ebony framed Victorian Aesthetic Movement armchairs with a inset Grand Tour plaques that are part of a suite

These are as mentioned part of a suite, I have in total the Salon sofa, a pair of his and hers Library reading armchairs and lastly four dining chairs, this sale is for the item mentioned in the title only, with the other pieces being listed for sale under my other items

This pair of Library armchairs are sublime, they are super decorative, the ebony frames absolutely pop with the contrasting burr walnut panels, the inset Grand Tour plaques are a thing of beauty and really sets these apart from the norm. The armchairs retain all the original porcelain castors and caps

Condition wise, the frames have been cleaned waxed and polished, they will have all the period related patina marks, structurally they are just fine. The upholstery has been professionally cleaned, as you can see in the photos there are some marks, my plan was to have these reupholstered in leather with tufting to the backs but I have so many other projects in hand at the moment I have left these as is, personally I think the upholstery is lovely with the small exception of the marked areas

Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
