A very fine Aesthetic Movement floral painted side or dessert pottery plate by Linthorpe and dating from around 1885.
Linthorpe Pottery was founded in 1879 and existed in Linthorpe, Middlesbrough until 1890. The pottery was founded by Christopher Dresser in association with businessman John Harrison. It produced arty pottery with many of the earlier designs in collaboration with Dresser.
This fine plate is made in a red terracotta colored clay
