Early 19th century American hand carved and gilded mirror, circa 1820s
Wonderful early American antique mirror. Beautifully carved and gilded. Acorns hang from the top and a shell carving is at the middle. Beautiful twisted columns on each side. The gilding is still bright.
The mirror is in a lightly distressed antique condition, but as you can see from the images here it will display nicely in as is condition.
The top mirror measures 12″ x 9″. The bottom mirror measures 12″ x 18″. The frame measures 24″ x 37.5″.
Notes on the back indicate the mirror was purchase in Nantucket in 1899 and at the time of purchase was 75 years old.
