Monumental.
Glassware marked Daum Nancy is attributed to Auguste and Antonin Daum. These brothers took over a glass factory owned by their father Jean Daum located in Nancy, France, during the 1870s. The Daum factory produced watch crystals and utilitarian glassware until the 1890s. The brothers began experimenting with art glass beginning in the 1890s and continuing into the early 20th century.
The Daum family worked at the beginning of the Art Nouveau era and created one of the most outstanding glassworks in France. Established in the late 19th century, Daum’s renown was originally linked to the École de Nancy [3] and the art of glass paste, a major factor contributing to its worldwide reputation.
