The interior of the box’s base and lid, are created using Carrara marble. The lid features stays, which retrofit into the base, and allow the top to hold to the base without sliding or moving.
The exterior is flanked with the gorgeous richly hued blue lapis lazuli.
How we would style it:
This blue stone box should be the shining star in a room, and placed somewhere it will be seen. Nothing above eye level. Ideally something just below eye level. (Think of a coffee table in a living room, a dresser or vanity table, or a foyer table.)
Personally, we would love to see this gem on a coffee table. Alone, with plenty of space around it, perhaps on a stack of well-loved books or magazines, it’s the perfect conversation piece. And a guaranteed way to create contrast in an area. It can be used to store items that clutter a space such as small remotes, lighters, cell phones, or unmentionables that one would not want out for display when guests are around.
This would also make a nice gift.
In history, Lapis Lazuli has long been associated with royalty and deities. Found to be worn by rulers from ancient Egypt to Greece and Italy. It is believed that lapis lazuli provides protection and shields the wearer from negative influences.
