The firm of Herter Brothers, (working 1864–1906), was founded by German immigrants Gustave (1830–1898) and Christian Herter (1839–1883) in New York City.
An antique late 19th century American diminutive slipper chair, late 19th century, executed in the Aesthetic taste, having a geometric and pierce carved crest flanked with geometric carved motifs. The skirt also with a matching geometric carving.
Provenance: Out of a Hoboken New Jersey estate with impressive American furniture.
