This amazing antique Edwardian sterling silver bowl is entirely handmade and styled after a Chinese design. The reliefs of chrysanthemums and fighting cocks are exceptional, being hand-chased with incredibly fine detail, even including loose feathers floating around the birds. It has a hand-finished naturalistic background giving a sense of movement to the air surrounding this action, a wonderful testament to the silversmiths skills and artistic interpretation. The bowl has an applied moulded rim to add extra weight and strength to an already substantial piece.
Weight 47 Troy oz (1470g).
