Vintage Design
This striking cabinet is made from poplar and has been stripped back to the natural wood colour, with the original circular hardware on the doors intact. It originates from Dongbei, northeast China where cabinets like this were used in the kitchen or dining area of a Chinese home to store foodstuffs. The bottom section and shallow drawers provided additional storage for cooking utensils and bowls.
The attractive lattice panels are set within thick frames and follow around the sides of the cabinet, making this an unusual feature and there is a single removable shelf inside the top section, with a further one in the bottom.
Perfect today as a kitchen dresser or as a statement piece in a living area, used to store anything such as books or as general storage.
