Antique French Louis XV Style Bureau and Stool, Set of 2

Stunning early painted circa 1880-1900 french louis xv style bureau plat writing table with later stool this is a wonderful find, the bureau plat is a proper late 19th century example in solid mahogany, it weighs a tonne for the size which is not surprising as all the fixtures and fittings are oversized solid brass, there is brass trim around the top of the desk and so on. I have been tempted to strip the paint off to see what the finish is like underside is like but the paint is so nicely aged I had to leave it as it is. The stool is later but matches perfectly, it’s very comfortable and has two large side rails for ease of entrance and exit condition wise is perfect for the period, we have lightly cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, it will have honest patination to the timber from genuine age desk.
