An exceptionally well made 19th C. Aesthetic Movement period bench, likely European, the cresting rail with intricate marquetry with winged figures, trailing vines and acanthus leaf motifs. The S-form back post with foliate inlay and conjoined with a scrolling armrest having marquetry to the outside, beginning with a shell and resting on figural mounts. The apron with a bold diamond form panel with marquetry motif. Bronze trim and the whole resting on paw feet.

Condition:There are some old darkened repairs, repair to leg, repair of back posts, comfortable but firm seating. Consistent with age and use, presents exceptionally well.
