Vintage Design
Rare armchair / lounge chair designed by Eberhard Krauss for Thonet in 1930 for the exhibition “Thonet Werkbund” in Vienna. This model is sometimes also wrongly attributed to Adolf Schneck, another designer who worked with Thonet during the same period. The frame and legs are made from black lacquered birch in the classical bent wood style that Thonet is so famous for. Seat and back with rattan. Good and honest used condition with light wear and patina from normal use over a long period of time. The rattan at the backrest has been repaired in two spots by a professional rattan specialist. Very nicely made and hard to spot.
