Vintage Design
Rare Safari folding chair by Casala.
A functional design with a clearly readable construction. The formal language and materiality is reminiscent of Scandinavian safari chairs. The chair is composed of solid wood elements. The ends of the woods are rounded with a large radius. The natural -colored, rough canvassoff forms the seat and backrest at the same time. On the backrest, the fabric is visibly fixed via a simple system. It is guided in the wood by slots and then locked with a wooden stick in the hem. This designed construction, together with the armrests, is responsible for the seating comfort of this chair. The chair is just 10 cm wide and so easy to stow.
