Vintage Design
This mid-century cabinet has been designed and produced by UP Zavody in the 1960s, in former Czechoslovakia. The cabinet is divided into two parts. The top part consists of open shelving protected by two sliding glass doors. The bottom part has one shelf and useful storage space with two lockable light grey/blue lacquered doors. These two parts are connected together by black painted legs which support the piece from the sides and the back. The legs are not only functioning as a physical support for the construction but they also lift the whole piece visually, bringing a striking and unusual element to the whole design.
This cabinet has been completely refurbished using original techniques and materials. Expertly polishing out surface scratches and marks, the entire piece was finished by Shellac lacquer, respecting and retaining the character of the item. All parts are original. Please note that the glass sliding doors are not visible on the pictures of the cabinet but they are part of the piece.
