Louis-Philippe (1830/1848) French mahogany gaming table, rectangular top veneered in mahogany centered by cartouche inlaid on a light spotted “erable” wood background, with mahogany inlays of Charles X taste, depicting a scene in “chinoserie”. Openable top that hides a double top covered in leather for playing cards with four corners with cartouches inlaid with flowers and palmettes on a light background. Straight band veneered in mahogany with telescopic opening to support the game plan and internal compartment container. Twisted legs ending on bell and sphere. In the back bears a stamping not deciphered and not fully legible of a furniture factory: …..a Macon, with a number probably referring to the number of the article of production.
