Late 19th Century cast iron table lamp with wintery blue reverse painted glass shade. Lamp is from the late 19th Century aesthetic period, just pre dating the art nouveau period and was originally lit with a gas flame. It was converted to electricity in the early 20th century. Ornate casting on the base and twisting up the stem. The glass is a late 20th century reproduction, reverse painted glass featuring a wintery country scene with two figures and a dog in an open snow covered field with a cabin surrounded by woods, and hills in the background.
Condition: Base has original aged patina, has been cleaned, structurally in excellent condition. Rewired with new pull chain sockets. Standard US Edison base, 60 watt max. Glass is in Excellent condition.
