A scarce and finely made Doulton Lambeth art pottery pin dish decorated with trailing floral designs by renowned artist Florence E Barlow and dated 1879. The small round stoneware dish stands on a narrow round unglazed foot with slightly recessed base and is of simple form with a raised rim, the inner dish with an incised garland of floral designs around the body of the dish. The floral designs are hand decorated in tones of blue and brown against a darker blue ground. The underside of the rim is decorated with stylized petals again in tones of blue and brown with white raised stipple patterning. The dish has impressed Doulton Lambeth marks along with a monogram for Florence E Barlow and assistant marks AB possibly for Alice Budden.
