This classical four-poster bed was made in Charleston, South Carolina, in the first quarter of the 19th century. This piece features carving on the foot posts in the form of reeded palm columns with carved husk leaves above beehive stacked rings. Beneath the beehive turnings are inlaid details and block feet. The slip in headboard and the finials are not original to the piece, but are of excellent quality. This bed will fit a custom queen mattress.
