We are delighted to offer for sale this very rare and important, Museum quality, Gothic style Antique Burr & Burl Walnut Dressing table with oversized, polished brass fittings This piece is part of a suite, I have the matching large wardrobe with castle top detail and built in chest of drawers listed under my other items I have never seen another dressing table like this in my career, it has a Gothic castle look and feel to it, the timber panels are way older than the actual wardrobe, I think this was made in the Victorian era by repurposing something that was very old and making something newer and usable, the fixtures are fittings all look to be mid-17th century circa 1740-1760, the timber I would say is around the same era The top of the dressing table has two lift up hidden compartments, the are on the left and right side and look to be custom made for jewellery etc, the mirror is tri-folding and has the period plate glass Condition wise we have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, there will be age and use related patina marks here and there, most likely some small losses, this piece isn’t designed to look new and contemporary, its designed to look 300-400 years old and full of charm and charisma Dimensions Height:- 164.5cm top to bottom, table top height outside edge 77.5cm, height in the middle 72.5cm, Width:- 134.5cm Depth:- 62.5cm Knee hight 58cm, knee width 58cm
