A good and decorative pair antique Doulton Lambeth stoneware jugs decorated with stylized floral designs by Annie Cupit and Florence Dennis and dating from around 1891. The jugs stand on a flat unglazed base with squat bulbous rounded bodies, a narrow neck and bowl shaped top with shaped pouring spouts. A squared off handle is attached to the neck and body. The jugs are decorated with relief molded stylized flowerheads set within a white beaded surround with continuous beading applied around the body with incised patterning above and below. The jugs are hand painted in tones of white and blue on a mottled muddy brown ground. Both have impressed makers marks to the base with artist marks for Annie Cupit and Florence Dennis along with other assistant marks.
