Imposing French writing table in style of Louis XIV. Piano black polished veneer on solid pinewood. Three part, straight border. Narrow overlapping, wide framed writing plate, middle laid, gold embossed leather surface. Underneath, three drawers of varying sizes with carved frieze from acanthus leaves. Wide knee area, flanked on both sides with three drawers with inset fillings flanked with fixtures in form of feminine masks on curved borders. Opposite situated blind drawers. The fixtures are prominent and of exceptionally good quality. The brass work from contre partie, consists of rambling leafwork.
