An unusual Doulton Lambeth saucer shape stylized leaf design candlestick with brass fittings by Frank Butler and dating from around 1890. The candle stick stands mounted on a wide rounded stoneware base with a shaped rim and moulded with V shaped patterning set within scrolling leaf designs painted in green and tones of brown. The candlestick has a narrow brass twist column stem with a small wax drip tray and supporting a small stoneware candle holder decorated with small florets decorated in similar coloring to the base. The candlestick has impressed makers marks along with incised artist marks for Frank A Butler assisted by Minnie Thompson and Clara Churcher.
